Wildwood Kangaroo Valley Wedding | Etienne + Mel

Nestled in the heart of Kangaroo Valley, Wildwood provided a stunning landscape for Etienne and Mel's intimate wedding. The 100-acre property, with its pristine subtropical rainforest and sweeping sandstone escarpment, offered a nature’s touch of setting for the couple to exchange their vows.

Etienne and Mel chose a classic color palette of blue and white for their wedding theme to vibe with the peaceful terrain. The atmosphere was warm and personal and everyone felt seen since there were just 30 guests in attendance.

From Taekwondo to 'I Do'

Celebrant Chris, known as The Guy With the Blue Bow Tie, brought the couple's unique love story to life during the ceremony. He recounted how Mel had admired Etienne since 2014, but it wasn't until they reconnected at a taekwondo center—a place we're personally familiar with—that their romance truly blossomed.

Chris's storytelling is infused with humor by letting Etienne and Mel decide who would recite their vows first through a game of rock, paper, scissors.

A Perfect Nature Wedding at the Wildwood Kangaroo Valley + Other Vendors

On that day, we truly appreciated the calmness of Wildwood Kangaroo Valley. Its lush rainforest and dramatic sandstone escarpment were the primary embellishments of the celebration. From the use of local, eco-friendly items to the carefully constructed buildings designed to minimize impact on the surrounding ecosystem.

In fact, the venue works closely with First Nations' organizations and traditional owners to interpret and protect the site's cultural importance. This commitment adds a layer of depth and respect to Etienne and Mel’s choice of venue.

The reception was a blast with Wildwood's in-house catering team. Each dish showcases the region's finest produce from local ingredients. There’s salmon, tenderloin, side dishes like Persian rice and chickpeas, vanilla cake for dessert, and wine to make the event more special.

Additionally, we had DJ Zanin take charge of the music afterwards, keeping the dance floor alive with a mix of classic hits and contemporary favorites. His ability to read the crowd ensured that the energy remained high throughout the night.

As a wedding production, we were thrilled to capture these precious memories alongside photographer Scott Surplice, a photography legend in the community. The collaboration between our team and Scott was a true pleasure. As expected, it  resulted in a comprehensive record of the day, from the grand, sweeping vistas of Wildwood to the smallest, most touching details.
